A pedestrian was hit by a Viva Rapid Transit bus in Vaughan on Monday.
The bus crash at Highway 7 and Weston Road just before 8 a.m. left a 14-year-old girl critically injured.
York Regional Police said in a statement on Monday, that the accident took place in bus lanes and alerted the public to avoid the area.
Media reports have stated that it was a female who was struck by a bus. However, it is not known if the bus was carrying any passengers or not.
No other injuries have been reported yet but the situation is developing.
Earlier in December, a 21-year-old Manila resident died following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 7, east of Omemee.
As per reports, Kawartha Lakes OPP Const. Jake Daynes said a call was received at 7:42 a.m. on Dec. 14 regarding a head-on collision near the Emily Park Road off ramp.
The vehicles involved in the collision were a commercial truck and a sedan. The male driver of the car was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was airlifted to Toronto trauma centre with critical injuries. The truck driver, 44-year-old from Oshawa, sustained minor injuries and he was transported to a local hospital.
